My organization utilizes a tableau dashboard embedded in our webpage, which is manually updated on a regular basis. I am working on automating this process, with the hope of having it updated automatically and on a more frequent basis.
We have a Tableau Prep flow saved, so when the raw data is received we run the flow, and update the dashboard with the new cleaned data.
My thought process is to schedule via task manager a python script that will grab the .csv from my email (This part is complete), open the .csv in Tableau Prep, run the saved flow, and output the cleaned file to a specified directory.
I know I can run Tableau Prep itself with subprocess.call(), however I don't know of any ways to actually interact within the program. I don't even really know if this is something that is reasonable or if I'm barking up the wrong tree here. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
