I am building an optical setup that consists of Thorlabs parts. The laser for the system has a pigtail that uses an APC E-2000 fibre terminator type. Thorlabs does not sell any compatible parts for APC E-2000. I have found some APC E-2000 to FC APC adapters on eBay, but they are hard to mount with Thorlabs components. The current APC E-2000 connector also has a black lever-based cover that protects the exposed fibre output, which needs to be taken into account when mounting.
At the end of the day, I just want a way to securely mount the fibre to my system, desirably using easy-to-find components such as those from Thorlabs. The setup doesn't need the fibre to be connected to anything. Any suggestions?
