With my provider, their FAQ, it's mentioned that VoLTE is more battery-friendly than classic GSM method(s) for calls.
(Why) is this true?
I know about the differences between GSM (2/3G) and LTE(4G). But I'm unsure about the power consumption, hence also the battery-friendliness.
Is it due to smaller cells? Or due to different multiplexing method? Or something else?
